recovering baby gull

Recently, AWRE was presented this baby Gull.  The finder stated they found it in their fireplace.  No nest was found in the chimney so they decided to bring this baby to us.  This baby Gull was healthy, quite hungry and has the “New York Bad Ass” attitude typical of Gulls.  At this time, he’s gobbling down Squid and getting bigger and stronger.  In order to be able to release this baby, we have to maintain all human contact to a minimum.  It is so very important that we teach this baby that humans are neither friends nor a food source, giving it the best chance to survive as a real, wild Gull once released and not Babygull eatingjust a “dock jockey” that hangs out begging for food.
